About Gozde Gokozan, LMFT, LPCC

Gozde Gokozan, LMFT, LPCC  is a licensed psychotherapist who works with a diverse group of clients via virtual and in person at Beverly Hills, Los angeles. Gozde received her Master’s of Science Degree in Applied Child Psychology from Kingston University, London, United Kingdom. Later, she received her Post Master's Certificate in Child and Family Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from New York University(NYU), New York. Then, Gozde received a Master's of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, Los Angeles. Gozde is currently working toward her doctoral degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Gozde completed her intensive training in the practice of psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Maple Counseling Center, Los Angeles and specialized with working with the patients who have Mild Traumatic Brain Injuries (mTBI) at Children's Hospital, Los Angeles. 

As a psychotherapist, Gozde has experience working with a wide range of clients including adults, couples, and children who have developmental disorders including autism spectrum disorder, social communication disorder, and tic disorder. Gozde provides a unique psychotherapy approach to treat a wide variety of conditions including anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, LGBT issues, attachment issues, PTSD, OCD, kleptomania, and grief.

 

Gozde specialize in infertility, adoption, and diverse family formation; this includes families formed through reproductive technologies, adoption, surrogacy, same sex parents, and those who choose to remain childless. She works with parents to manage their stress and anxiety throughout their family building process, whether it be through fertility treatments, third party reproduction, or adoption.

 

Gozde also specialize in working with children or adults who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum disorder or Social Communication Disorder (AKA Asper Syndrome). Gozde approaches ASD as a cognitive style and helps her clients to develop coping skills around their diagnosis, and strategies to manage their life with less anxiety and worry.

Gozde also completed intensive Emotional Focused Therapy externship to treat couples. Gozde is working with heterosexual couples, same sex couples, and people who want to explore open relationship or polyamory.

Gozde is also a certified EMDR therapist who uses this therapy with a mindfulness practice to treat many different issues including Big "T" traumas, as well as anxiety, stress, OCD, and social phobias.

Gozde currently facilitates grief and mild traumatic brain injuries process groups for children and adults.

Gozde is multicultural and multilingual, and she has lived in the United States, England and Turkey. This allows her to understand cultural differences in human behavior and thought. She can provide therapy in both English and Turkish.
